Research
I like turning new ideas into working hardware. These are the areas I keep coming back to.
Hardware and software co-design
How work is split between hardware and software on SoCs and FPGAs. My M.Sc. thesis evaluated AXI interfaces for hardware-software communication.
Embedded vision
Running vision algorithms on small, power-limited platforms, from stereo correspondence on a Zynq FPGA to head-pose analysis for autonomous driving research.
Sensing and data acquisition
Getting clean signals from difficult sensors, such as a 256-element pressure matrix and physiological signals, with the conditioning hardware and firmware built together.
Low-cost wireless and IoT
Reliable sensing and control over Wi-Fi, BLE, GSM and RF, built for places where connectivity and power are not guaranteed.
Flexible electronics
Embedded systems for new device types, through my current work at the National Centre for Flexible Electronics, IIT Kanpur.
Working on an idea?
I build proof-of-concept prototypes for new ideas, with notes on what was built and measured. Tell me about it.
